CYCLOPENTADIENE-BASED POLYMER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-molecular weight cyclopentadiene-based polymer with narrow molecular weight distribution. SOLUTION: This cyclopentadiene-based polymer with (A) a number-average molecular weight(Mn) of 1×103 to 1×106 and (B) the ratio of the weight-average molecular weight(Mw) to Mn of 1.0-2.6 is obtained by polymerizing the corresponding cyclopentadiene-based monomer using a catalyst comprising (a) a cationically polymerizable monomer's protonic acid adduct and (b) a Lewis acid.
