A means which, though of simple compact construction, is capable of satisfactorily controlling oscillations. A device for controlling oscillations of an object, the object being provided with a rotary body in such a manner as to transmit the reaction torque from the rotary body to the object, wherein the rotation of the rotary body is controlled to thereby control oscillations of the object which are substantially orthogonal to the axis of rotation of the rotary body. An oscillation controlling device, in one preferred example, is employed for a magnetic levitation device, in which magnetic levitation device a track for supporting the object has a downward circular cross section and is provided with an attitude control function capable of automatically adjusting the angle of inclination depending on centrifugal force during passage along a curve. |
