Apparatus and method for collecting fowl and bringing the fowl into receiving bins. The apparatus is provided with catching means and with a conveyor linking up with these catching means. With the conveyor, fowl caught with the catching means is conveyed to receiving bins. The fowl are distributed over the receiving bins with the aid of a distributor in the form of a distributing valve or brush and a distribution element provided with one inlet and at least two outlets. With the distributor, in each case at least one outlet, as desired, can be cleared to pass the fowl, while the or each other outlet can be blocked. The distributor can be controlled by signals coming from detection means arranged along the conveyor, such as counting and weighing means. |
