PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clamp a roll chock without influence on an AGC system. SOLUTION: The roll chock clamping device 20 is arranged to clamp a roll chock 11 of a work roll 10. The device is provided with a cylinder 21 arranged on the side of a housing 13 in a rolling mill, a piston 22 inserted into the cylinder 21, and a hydraulic system 30 enclosing oil in the cylinder 21, in which supply of hydraulic pressure is stopped when the piston 22 is brought into contact with the roll chock 11, while the piston 22 is forced to move to the side of the roll chock 11 by supplying hydraulic pressure into the cylinder 21.
