PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head, and its manufacturing method, in which a plurality of grooves are arranged closely to each other and accurately and connection terminals can be formed accurately in correspondence with the grooves. SOLUTION: A plurality of ink grooves 21 and a plurality of energy generating means for applying ejection energy selectively to ink contained therein are provided on one side of each substrate 10, 40. The substrates 10, 40 are laminated while sandwiching an intermediate plate 30 such that the ink grooves 21 face the energy generating means. The image of an endmost longitudinal groove 25 is picked up by means of an image pickup unit 54, the other side of the substrate 40 is subjected to X-Y scanning with reference to the longitudinal groove 25 by means of a laser irradiator 53, and a conductive layer formed on the other side of the substrate 40 is divided by ablation to form connection terminals 28a, 28b. Subsequently, the laminate of substrates 10, 40 is turned down and connection terminals 28a, 28b are also formed on the other side of the substrate 10 with reference to a longitudinal groove located at the substantially same position according to the same program.
