PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a paper feed unit for reducing the assembly time and the cost of the apparatus by facilitating the fitting work of the paper feed unit requiring the assembly accuracy. SOLUTION: A carrying guide 52 for guiding sheets to register roller pairs 10 provided on a frame body side is held by a manual paper sheet feed unit 51 fitted to a frame body S of the image forming apparatus, a carrying guide 52 is positioned with a bearing part 60 of a register roller 10a as a positioning means, and the paper sheet feed unit 51 is positioned on a bearing part 63 of a drive input gear 62 provided on the frame body S for transmitting the drive to the paper sheet feed unit 52.
