PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging method for a food such as a rice ball wherein the packaging is easy, and also, the unsealing work is easy as well. SOLUTION: An approximately rectangular packaging film B has a wider width than the lateral width of the food A which is formed into an approximately rectangular parallelepiped, and at the same time, on the packaging film B, a separating band 10 is provided in the direction being approximately orthogonal to the width direction. With such a packaging film B, the food A is wrapped and wound in such a manner that the separating band 10 section may be wound around the food A. Then, on both sides of the food A, a square cylindrical section 2 wherein the side edge section in the width direction of the packaging film B is extended is formed. Then, the packaging is performed while forming a triangular piece 4 of an approximate triangle shape which becomes a pulling section by folding a pair of confronted side walls of the square cylindrical section 2 inward. Especially, after folding a first triangular piece 4a inward, a second triangular piece 4b is folded inward, and the distal end 18 of the second triangular piece 4b is made into the pulling section. Alternatively, a superposed distal end section 19, wherein the first triangular piece 4a and the second triangular piece 4b are alternately folded inward, and the distal ends are superposed, is formed and made into the pulling section.
