PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weather strip for automobile capable of being adhered assuredly by reaction force of shutting force acting on a seal part when a back door or a trunk is shut in a state that the strip is inserted into a flange of a car body opening edge for fixing temporarily. SOLUTION: Highly foamed sponge rubber 11 is protruded inside a leg part 1a constituting a mounting part 1 made of trim state solid rubber in U-shape approximately in section to sandwich the flange 2 by the highly foamed sponge rubber 11 elastically contacting with a nail piece 8 and the flange 2 when the mounting part 1 is inserted into the flange 2 for fixing temporarily. After fixing temporarily, abrasive paper 7 of a double-coated adhesive tape 15 to be applied to a mounting face 1c of the leg part 1a is peeled off. Then, when the back door or the trunk is shut, the double-coated adhesive tape 15 is pressed/adhered against a mounting face 2a of the flange 2 by reaction force of shutting force acting on the seal part 4.
