PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically-powered high twig shears capable of easily and instantaneously doing and changing the opening and closing operations of its cutting part with only one finger even in the midst of the operations, through such steps as to make a motor rotate clockwise only by finger-control using one hand gripping a holding part to close the cutting part of the shears, and moreover, make the motor rotate counterclockwise to open the cutting part only through letting the finger go off the holding part, and then turn the power off down when the cutting part is completely closed. SOLUTION: This electrically-powered high twig shear has the following construction: an electrically-powered motor 6, a speed reducer 7 for the motor 6, limit switches 18 and 19, and a changeover switch 21 which works so as to rotate the motor clockwise through a one-way finger control and on the other hand to rotate the motor counterclockwise through a finger-off operation because springy force causes a reversely returning action, are internally installed in a case 2 set on the side within reach; a stationary blade 15 of a cutting part 14 of the shears is fixed on the tip of a pipe 3 projecting from the front end of the case 2; the arm 16a of a mobile blade 16 of the cutting part 14 and the tip of a connecting member 10 threaded through the pipe 3 are connected with each other; and a screw shaft 8 projecting forward from the speed reducer 7 and the rear part of the connecting member 10 are screwed with each other.
