PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new spare blade type sickle capable of allowing a handle 1 to be firmly fixed to a spare blade 2, and usable without anxiety. SOLUTION: A groove 4 with a narrow width is bored at the tip part of the handle 1 so that the tang 3 of the spare blade 2 may be inserted thereinto. A through hole 5 is formed at the upper part of the tang 3 to allow the upper part of the tang 3 to be fixed to the handle 1 with an attaching screw 7. A notched part 6 is formed at the lower end part of the tang 3 by cutting one side edge to enable the lower end part of the tang 3 to be pushed and fixed to the side surface of the groove by a fixing screw arranged so as to face to the notched part 6. As a result, the spare blade 2 is firmly fixed. When the through hole 5 is formed into a slot, and the upper half of the groove 4 is formed into an expanding slot shape, the spare blade 2 can be lifted upward, and brought down forward to enable the sickle to be carried by holding.
