摘要 In prior art polymer-electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells, mechanical compression devices are used which mostly serve to counteract the reactands supplied with overpressure. The heavy weight and large volume of these devices and the associated costs are decisive drawbacks for the practical use of fuel cells. According to the invention, the coatings are held together by chemical bonding agents without the provision of mechanical devices. The invention enables the avoidance of all the above-mentioned drawbacks due to the use of simple and economical laminating processes thereby eliminating the need for mechanical compression devices. The inventive laminating processes are particularly suited for the use of PEM fuel cells in the mobile domain and for a planar configuration of the individual cells, in which a plurality of individual or double cells are adjacently placed on a flat or curved surface.
