PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of selectively obtaining the advantages of any recording mode. SOLUTION: Cut sheets K are fed from the front of a recording device body through manual insertion and recording is executed, in order, from the forward end of the cut sheet to its rear end, and the cut sheet is discharged to the front of the recording device body. The formed recording device is constituted such that a normal rotation recording mode to execute recording of the cut sheet K while the cut sheet is carried from the rear of the recording device body 11 to its front and a reversing recording mode to execute recording on the cut sheet K while the cut sheet is carried from the front of the recording device body 11 to its rear are provided and the recording modes can be selected.
