PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an apparatus compact in a constitution wherein a chain delivery system is adopted for an image transfer area. SOLUTION: Paper carrying equipment 16 that carries printing paper P is provided in the transfer area of transfer drums 54, 64, 74 and 84. The equipment 16 has a chain 36 stretched between a drive pulley 32 and an idler pulley 34 and nipping members 38 mounted on the chain 36. Transfer rollers 40 are formed to be smaller in diameters than the transfer drums 54, 64, 74 and 84 and they are brought into contact with and detached from the transfer drums 54, 64, 74 and 84 by means 18 for bringing the transfer rollers into contact and detaching them and shunted synchronously with the movement of the nipping members 38. |
