PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an endoscope wherein the projecting length of treating utensils until the treating utensils become drawable under an ultrasonic image is made as short as possible, and an unnecessary reflected wave from the distal end of the insertion section is hard to occur, and also, the length of the rigid section at the distal end is made shorter. SOLUTION: An angleβformed by a side end line 32 on an endoscope functional section 20 side and the direction of the longitudinal axis L of the insertion section 2 is constituted to be smaller than an angleαformed of the endoscope function arranged surface 20a to the direction of the longitudinal axis L of the insertion section 2, in an ultrasonic scanning surface 31 which is scanned by an ultrasonic probe 30a. Also, the side end line 32 is constituted in such a manner that the side end line 32 may not come into contact with the endoscope function arranged surface 20a. Then, in a border section 40 which is a waste space generated between an ultrasonic functional section 30 and the endoscope functional section 20, a balloon fitting section 41 wherein a balloon is fitted is provided.
