PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deaerating a molding raw material in which the raw material is deaerated simply and almost completely even without using a large-size pressure-reducing means in the previous stage of a process for platicating the material by a heating cylinder and an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: After a prescribed amount of the molding raw material (y) is supplied from a raw material supply part (p0) to the heating cylinder (p2) through a raw material supply passage (p1), after a communication space comprising the inside of the passage (p1) and the inside of the cylinder (p2) is sealed by closing in the passage (p1), a suction action to evacuate the space and a pressure restoring action for restoring the pressure of the space to the atmospheric pressure or to the neighbourhood of the atmospheric pressure by supplying inert gas to the space are repeated alternately a prescribed number of times so that gas in the space and gas held by the raw material (y) are replaced with the inert gas.
