PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To isolate a gene specific to the nurse-like cell and clarify its function. SOLUTION: A new scavenger receptor-like protein is not only expressed highly in the nurse-like cell but also confirmed to be expressed in the vascular endothelial cell. Therefore, on the basis of the scavenger receptor-like protein, the screening of the compound useful not only in the diagnosis or treatment for RA but also in the diagnosis, prophylaxis or treatment for arterial sclerosis becomes possible.
