PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet plotter in which distortion, color shift or uneven color can be prevented from occurring at a part of a character, a figure or a symbol being written on the surface of a recording medium. SOLUTION: Each of a plurality of sliders 20 mounting one ink jet head 70 across a main guide rail 12 and a sub-guide rail 14 is arranged slidably in the Y direction while having a play through a pair of bushes 32, 34 and one L-shaped frame 40 and supported at three points. Each of the plurality of sliders 20 is provided with a linear encoder sensor 60 for detecting the traveling position of the slider 20 by reading out the graduation of a linear encoder scale 50 stretched in the Y direction in the vicinity of the traveling passage of the slider 20. Mutual positional relation is unified in the arrangement of each pair of bushes 32, 34 of the plurality of sliders 20, the one L-shaped frame 40, the linear encoder sensor 60 and a plurality of nozzles 72 arranged in one ink jet head. |
