PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polycarbonate obtained by polycondensing an aromatic dihydroxy compound with a diester of carbonic acid, having high durability and excellent in color, transparency and mechanical strength. SOLUTION: An aromatic dihydroxy compound having a spherical shape with a specified particle diameter distribution, a specific surface area and a pore volume not larger than a specific value, and preferably having specified color is used as the aromatic dihydroxy compound. |
