PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical method for treating waste liquid crystal panel able to be ideally recycled without generating waste by recovering and reusing glass substrates, liquid crystal and so on which are expensive materials. SOLUTION: The method for treating liquid crystal panel is provided with a panel-cutting step (S2) to cut a liquid crystal panel of comparatively large size, a liquid crystal recovering step (S3) to recover liquid crystal, a chamfering step (S5) to chamfer the cut glass substrate, a glass-sorting step (S6) to sort out the glass substrates corresponding to the kinds of the glass, a thin film removing step (S7) to remove thin films formed on the glass substrate and so on. Thereby, since the recovered glass substrate can be reused as a sheet glass as it is, as a glass substrate for a comparatively small sized liquid crystal panel one size smaller than the original substrate or the like, larger economical effect is obtained. Also, metals such as indium and chromium are recovered from the thin films.
