PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that continues an image forming operation even in the case sheet supply is delayed. SOLUTION: The image forming device has a rotatable intermediate transfer belt 12 and image forming units 20Y, 20M, 20C, and 20K, arranged along the intermediate transfer belt 12, which form images of different colors on the intermediate transfer belt 12. The image forming device also has a transfer roll 34 which transfers images formed on the belt 12 to a sheet, a pair of timing rolls 48 which feed the sheet to an area 36 where the image is transferred by the transfer roll 34, and a timing sensor 52 which detects the sheet in the vicinity of the pair of the timing rolls 48. The image forming device further has a control part 70 which controls the black image forming unit 20K, so as to start the image forming operation of the black image forming unit 20K according to the detection result of the timing sensor 52 when a monochrome image is formed using only the unit 20K. |
