PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a product cost by providing a compressor that can execute any image compression processing for a prescribed time despite of a content of the image. SOLUTION: A compressor 0102 that compresses data accumulated in a buffer memory 0101 into fixed-length coded data per the prescribed number of pixels (16×16) block, an image memory 0103 that accumulates coded data, and a control device 0100 that controls input and output of each device and timing of processing are provided. The compression processor 0102 consists of a dividing means A 0104 that inputs image data in a block in a prescribed order, finds a threshold value from pixel data having a maximum gradation, and divides pixels in the block into two groups based on the threshold value, a dividing means B 0105 that divides each group into further two groups, a compressed data generating means C 0106 that allocates to each pixel an approximate color represented by an average gradation of pixels existing in each of the four groups, and a pipeline control means 0107 that synchronizes timing of each input in the means A to C. |
