<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spatial light modulator(SLM) which is good in color reproduction. SOLUTION: The SLM 1 has a spatial light modulation element 5 having a pixel electrode layer 11 arrayed, in a matrix form, with three pixels, each of the three pixels corresponding to the red, green and blue of three primary colors being made one set, and hologram color filters 4 having hologram lenses 8a for diffraction and spectral analysis of white light and is aligned and constituted in such a manner that the three primary color light rays subjected to the diffraction and spectral analysis by the hologram lenses 8a are condensed on the pixels of the corresponding colors in the three pixels described above. The inter-pixel gaps 1rb and 1gb of the three pixels are made equal to the overlap widths of the respective color light rays by the wavelength dispersion of the three primary color light rays on the surface of the pixel electrode layer 11.</p> |
