<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel selection apparatus which have no need of a CATV mode selection by a user to improve ease of operation by the user and also not to mistake whether a signal exists or not, even if a CATV broadcast has a frequency drift. SOLUTION: The channel selection apparatus comprises a tuner 2 receiving an input signal from an antenna 1; a demodulator demodulating a received signal by the tuner; an input device 6 e.g. a switch box, with which a particular channel for the tuner 2 is determined by the user; a detector 4 determining a receiving mode; and a storage means 5 storing data detected by the detector 4, where before an automatic tuning the particular channel being determined with the input device 6 is tuned, the receiving mode and the receiving frequency drift are detected and stored as data, and the data is used as initial data for performing the automatic tuning.</p> |
