PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection device for deactivating an electrical apparatus when undesirable condition is generated within an alternating current electrical apparatuses. SOLUTION: A plurality of structural elements of an electric apparatus 10 are represented by an electrical load 12. An electrical power to the load 12 can be obtained through a nonshielded electrical power lead 14 and a non- shielded neutral lead 16. Moreover, a non-shielded detection lead 18 is also included. These three leads and an insulating part surrounding these lead are hermetically sealed within an insulation inserter. When undesirable condition other than a leakage current in the device is generated or when undesirable leakage current is generated in a power cord for supplying the electrical power to an electrical device, the electrical device is deactivated using a circuit shielding element. For this purpose, a check element or the like connecting a solenoid operation type normally closed contact 30, the power lead 14 and detection lead is provided within the power lead 14. Activation of a solenoid coil 34 is controlled with an adequate switching element such as a silicon control rectifier.
