PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device for a burning apparatus capable of providing safety of indoor environment by rapidly and properly detecting worsening of indoor environment due to exhaust gas of the burning apparatus. SOLUTION: The safety device for the burning apparatus is provided with a CO concentration sensor 50 to detect CO concentration in combustion exhaust generated by a burner 20, and constituted that when CO concentration detected by the CO concentration sensor 50 exceeds a predetermined specified threshold, integration of CO concentration is carried out and at a point of time when an integration value of CO concentration reaches a value higher than a specified reference value, safety operation accompanying with the forced combustion stop of the burner 20 is effected. The so formed safety device for a burning apparatus is provided with a controller 60 constituted such that in case quenching occurs to flame under combustion during the execution of integration of CO concentration even when an integration value of, for example, CO concentration does not reach a reference value, the burner is brought into safety operation accompanied by a forced combustion stop which occurs as a result of reignition of the burner 20 being prohibited.
