PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly and easily update picture information linked with a digital map without interposing a human processing at the time of updating the picture information. SOLUTION: This map system is provided with a storage means 10 which stores picture information to be supplied from a digital camera as stored data together with reduction-to-one positions, a sameness judging means 20 which judges whether photographing objects of the new picture information picture information being previous stored data are the same or not based on the comparison among photographed positions of the new picture information and unitied positions of the stored data when new picture information is supplied and a stored data updating means 30 which updates the picture information of the previous stored data to the new picture information when the means 20 judged that positions are the same.
