PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength code division multiplex optical receiver that can automatically compensate deterioration of the reception characteristics due to a temperature change or the like. SOLUTION: A filter circuit 31a filters the output electric signal (data) from a difference circuit Su, a differentiation circuit 31b differentiates its filtered output, an adder/subtractor circuit 31c sums the differentiation output and a fixed voltage, and the sum is fed to a refractive index control means 32 of a Mach-Zehnder(MZ) filter Fr to control the effective optical path length difference of optical paths 21, 22 of the MZ filter Fr so that the differentiation output is always nearly zero. The control means 32 is configured with components utilizing the thermooptic effect or the electrooptic effect.
