ELECTRONIC PROGRAM GUIDE DISPLAY CONTROLLER, ITS METHOD AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic program guide display controller and its method which enable users to reserve picture recording of their desired broadcast program onto the optimal recorder easily and effectively without redundant operation. SOLUTION: This controller has an electric program table decoding means 14 which decodes electric program table data including at least broadcasting bit rate and broadcasting time of each program. It also has a recorder information management means 15 which takes in and manages each recorder 41's recorder information including at least available capacity and reservation status from plural recorders 41 connected to each other via telecommunication circuit. It also has an electronic program table construction means 11 which distinguishes an available recorder that can record the desired program based on the electronic program table data and the recorder information, and which constructs electronic program table screen that are displayed simultaneously on the program information column.
