The heliothermic jet has modules (12) storing solar thermal energy in elements (26) installed in each module. The solar energy is focussed in a cavity (48) formed by the modules through a secondary concentrator (14). A preheater is in communication with a propellant and one end of the storage modules. A propulsion nozzle (16) is in communication with the other end of the modules.
