PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method or the like which achieves easier detection of uric acid. SOLUTION: The interference-eliminating membrane is used for detecting uric acid in a sample and contains a compound for inhibiting or shading uric acid interfering substance or a derivative thereof and a carrier having absorption property and permeability for the sample. The compound has one or a plurality of mercapto groups to allow selective oxidization of a substance having a reducing capacity higher than that of the uric acid or to shade the substance interfering a uric acid assay in the sample.
