PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely protect a line repeater from a lightning surge current, in a lightning protector, even when it is a current transmitting type, for protecting from a lightning surge current a communication apparatus connected to an external communication line via the line repeater. SOLUTION: A first input/output modular jack 20 connected to an external communication line, a second input/output modular jack 30 to which an analog line of a communication apparatus such as FAX and telephone set and an analog line of a line repeater such as TA and router are connected and the power supply receptacle 40 connected to the commercial power supply are mutually connected via arresters 51 to 53 having the predetermined dielectric strength.
