PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring device capable of automatically recording a monitoring video of an object in which an abnormality has been caused in more detail than conventional one. SOLUTION: A zoom command transmission circuit 12 and a zoom command switch circuit 13 are provided as viewing angle changing means that changes the photographing magnification of the monitoring camera before and after the occurrence of an abnormality in an area under surveillance, a monitoring camera is selected which corresponds to a sensor that has sensed an abnormality, a zoom command is provided to the monitoring camera for enlarging the photographing magnification of the camera, the video photographed by the monitoring camera is recorded by a video recording device, and the conditions of the abnormal spot is recorded by a high magnification, thus making it possible to grasp in detail the situation and information of the abnormality that has been caused.
