PURPOSE: A silicon-on-insulator driver circuit is provided that has a body voltage control stage and a voltage clamp stage. CONSTITUTION: A body voltage control (102) outputs an output driver signal WL in response to an input control signal SL1. The body voltage control (102) includes a first transistor(TR) Q1 with a terminal (1-8) for electric coupling with a logic circuit and the TR Q1 has a body connecting point (112) connected electrically to the input control signal SL1 to reduce a threshold voltage of the TR Q1 when the TR Q1 is active. Through the reduction in the threshold voltage of the TR, a transition speed of the TR Q1 reaching an inactive state is increased in response to the input control signal. A voltage clamp stage (104) has a second TR Q4 that responds to the input control signal SL1 so as to give a reference voltage (126) to the terminal (108) when the first TR Q1 is inactive.
