PURPOSE: To provide a trouble detecting method of a steering sensor which detects trouble of a steering sensor without needing to install a separate circuit for detecting trouble of the steering sensor. CONSTITUTION: This trouble detecting method of a steering sensor is constituted of a center sensor detecting the center position of steering, and a steer angle sensor detecting a steering angle. The center position of steering is detected by the center sensor, and steer angle at a center position of steering is detected by the steer angle sensor. Generation of trouble in the steering sensor is judged in the case that the center position of steering is not detected by the center sensor when the steering is rotated 360 degrees.
