PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera equipped with a film trailing edge detecting mechanism capable of preventing film from being damaged or being rewound in the middle of photographing by setting an appropriate detecting time in accordance with the using circumstances of the camera. SOLUTION: In this camera having a film trailing edge detecting mechanism equipped with a film feeding control photointerrupter 30 generating a film pulse interlocked with the winding of the film, and a CPU 11 judging that the film is wound to its trailing edge when the film pulse is not detected in the specified film trailing edge detecting time at the time of winding the film, the CPU 11 measures the winding time by one frame of film, and the film trailing edge detecting time at the time of winding the film next is reset based on the measured winding time.
