PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter unit for a camera capable of obtaining a filter effect by which a stepless color change is realized and confirming the effect through a finder. SOLUTION: This filter unit includes a cylinder part large enough to include at least a lens part R and a finder part F, is equipped with a base frame 2 whose one end side is attached to the camera through a holding means, and a rotary frame 3 rotatably and coaxially attached to the other end side of the base frame 2, and is provided with a 1st polarizing film 5, a phase difference film 6 and a 2nd polarizing film 7 in a layered state in order from a lens R side between the base frame 2 and the rotary frame 3, and at least one of the film is made rotatable.
