PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a stiffened body not generating an arch from paper-forming sludge, and a device for producing the same. SOLUTION: The device for producing the stiffened body consists of a raw material-adjusting mechanism 10 for adjusting the paper-forming sludge and generating slurry 14, a fiber sheet-forming mechanism 20 for forming a sheet- formed body 26 from the slurry 14, a pressing machine 50 for piling plural layers of sheet-formed bodies 26 and compressing them for performing dehydration, and a drier 60. Since the sheet-formed bodies 26 are laminated by alternately turning-over the laminating surfaces of the sheet-formed bodies, i.e., reversing the directions forming the arch, it is possible not to generate the arch and peeling between layers in the stiffened body 1 formed by laminating the sheet formed bodies 26.
