The cover assembly consists of a rigid structural element (2), formed with a reduced resistance line (7), outlining part of a flap (10), which covers the air bag. This line also forms the flap hinge (9), which allows the flap to pivot, after rupture along the line of reduced resistance, thus creating an opening for the deployment of the bag. The cover also has a reinforced flexible layer (11), rigidly fixed to the structural element, by means of a self-adhesive facing. An Independent claim is also included for a manufacturing method and the vehicle's dashboard.
