PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of surely detecting a residual sheet and surely ejecting the detected residual sheet. SOLUTION: A re-carrying path R4 carrying a reversed sheet toward an image forming part 1A is branched from a reverse carrying path R3, and a sheet detection means 16 is provided on the upstream side of the branching point RS between the paths R3 and R4 in the path R3. Then, the existence of the sheet remaining in the path R3 is judged based on a sheet detection signal from the detection means 16. In the case of judging that the residual sheet exists, the residual sheet is ejected to the outside of a device main body. The detection means 16 is constituted so that it can detect the sheet even when the sheet is carried from the upstream side of the path R3 or even when the sheet led in the path R4 by the reversion of a sheet carrying means 17 is carried from the branching point side, and it detects the residual sheet whatever position the residual sheet exists at. |
