PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal ring having a high serviceable pressure of its pressure receiving surface and working effectively for sealing off a high-pressure fluid. SOLUTION: A reinforcing ring 2 is formed rigidly at the axial direction end face of a seal ring body 1 molded ring-shapedly from expansion graphite. The reinforcing ring 2 is formed from a woven, knit, or braided object consisting of wire-shaped material 5 of such a structure that 100 or more metal fibers 3 are covered with one or more metal wires 4.
