PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal the manufacture cost of which can be reduced and the convenience of which can be enhanced. SOLUTION: The portable phone is provided with a speaker 15, a speech key 31 and a speech end key 32 that are operated to section control between a standby state and a speech state, and a CPU 41 that controls a tone volume of the speaker 15. The CPU 41 reduces the tone volume in at least the speech state than that in the standby state.
