PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication terminal that can properly set locking or release locking in response to reception of a character message. SOLUTION: When the mobile communication terminal 100 receives a character message, a CPU 11 automatically releases locking. Furthermore, the CPU 11 generates release time information and lock time information that are used to specify lock reapplication timing when the mobile communication terminal 100 receives the character message and the CPU 11 releases the locking according to the instruction of an input key 7 and stores the information sets to a nonvolatile memory 5. When the CPU 11 receives the character message in the key lock state and releases the locking, the CPU 11 allows a timer 20 to start measurement of an elapsed time and settles locking in timing specified by the release time information or by the lock time information.
