PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of blocking performance in an electrostatic recording body manufactured by forming a stripe electrode on a support body and forming a blocking layer on it. SOLUTION: After an electrode layer 5 is formed on the support body 8 (A), etching is performed to form the stripe electrode 6(B). The blocking layer 7 is formed using a dip method, in which a member 11 on which the stripe electrode 6 is formed, is immersed in a material liquid 70 for blocking layer 7 along the longitudinal direction of an element 6a in a vessel 40 in which the liquid 70 is filled and is pulled up (C). Consequently, the blocking layer 7 is formed continuously over the upper face and the side face of each element 6a, to surely prevent pouring-in of dark current from the stripe electrode 6.
