PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the lifetime by lessening the load of synchronous meshing and shorten the total shift time by lessening the shifting frequency. SOLUTION: The control device for an automatic transmission device according to the present invention is to make automatic shifting of a synchro-mesh type speed change gear, wherein a comparison of other shift range with the current shift range is made in conformity to the sensed shift command when a shift command is sensed and if the other shift range according to the judgement is a skip shift from the current shift range to the one over the next, provisional synchronization is established by synchronization of the intermediate range constituting the synchronizing device and then shifting is made to the other shift range above.
