PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a rice-cake from sticking to a rice-cake-toasting grid, when the rice cake is toasted in an electric cooker. SOLUTION: This electric cooker is provided with a changer-over switch 5, an A-thermostat 6, a B-thermostat 7, an upper heating-body 2, and a lower heating-body 3. The switch 5 conducts change-over between a bread-heating mode and a rice-cake heating mode. In the rice-cake heating mode, the heating body 3 is energized first by the heating body 3 provided with the A-thermostat 6 having a third contact 6a, which closes at normal temperature, and then the heating body 2 is energized by the B-thermostat 1 having a fourth contact 7a, which closes at a set temperature. Thus, the lower face of the rice cake is heated first by the lower heating-body, thereafter its upper face is heated by energizing the upper heating-body, upon reaching the set temperature of the thermostat. The rice cake rises in its inside in the state of the lower face of the rice cake toasted, then it continues to rise upward of the rice cake which is heated later than the lower side. Thus sticking of the rice cake to the grid can be prevented.
