PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the speed and accuracy of positioning control for the swing arm of a magnetic disc device. SOLUTION: In a bearing device for the swing arm of the magnetic disc device having a ball bearing 12 where a number of rolling elements are disposed between an inner ring 12a and an outer ring 12b, the measurement of a radial resonant frequency is controlled to be within a predetermined frequency range.
