PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make installation capable by maintaining a sufficient safety distance without accompanied by enlargement of an installation space. SOLUTION: This gas supply unit for public welfare, installed adjacently to a structural object 101 to supply liquefied petroleum gas to a gas apparatus in a house, has a pipe 7 for filling connecting a base end part to a vessel main unit 3 receiving the liquefied petroleum gas and provided extensibly/foldably between a use condition in almost a horizontal position and a storage condition along the vessel main unit 3, to be further provided with a filling port part 2 connecting a supply pipe of a gas supply source capable of mounting/ demounting to a tip end part of the pipe 7 for filling.
