PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffer device for check valve having a counterweight mechanism capable of easily opening the valve element certainly even in the case the fluid to be controlled flows in a minor rate of flow or in the case the controlled fluid is a compressible fluid such as air. SOLUTION: A valve casing 1 is equipped with a valve element 2 rotating round the axis of a horizontal valve stem 3 and swinging between the full close position and the full open position, and the valve stem 3 is fitted with an arm 4 swinging round the axis, and at one end of the arm 4, a rail 7 to become down-gradient in the swinging direction with the swing of the valve element 2 in the full opening direction is installed at the specified angle, and a counterweight 9 moving by its own weight is installed on the rail 7. In this check valve, an oil damper device 21 is installed at the other end of the arm 4 with the valve stem 3 interposed.
