PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a stiffened body, capable of mass- producing the stiffened body efficiently from paper-forming sludge, and a device for producing the same. SOLUTION: The device for producing the stiffened body consists of a raw material-adjusting mechanism 10 for adjusting the paper-forming sludge and generating slurry 14, a fiber sheet-forming mechanism 20 for forming a sheet- formed body 26 from the slurry 14, a pressing machine 50 for piling plural layers of sheet-formed bodies 26 and compressing them for performing dehydration, and a drier 60. By sheet-forming the thin sheet-forming body 26 efficiently from the slurry 14 and laminating, the stiffened body 1 having a required strength and thickness is produced. Thus, the stiffened body 1 can be mass-produced.
