PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device and a method for frequency error estimation which can secure high estimation precision without making worse the tracking of temporal variation in Doppler frequency when a frequency error of a receiver is estimated. SOLUTION: The frequency error estimating device which estimates the frequency error between the local oscillation frequency of the receiver and the carrier frequency of a received signal is equipped with a frequency error estimation unit 11 which suppresses a noise component included in the receive signal according to a filter coefficient inputted to an averaging filter 23 and estimates the frequency error according to the output of the averaging filter 23, a difference computing element 41 which computes the difference in estimated value of the frequency error between symbols, and a coefficient determination unit 43 which computes a filter coefficient according to the difference computed by the difference computing element 41 and inputs the filter coefficient to the averaging filter 23. |
